William
H. Davis (President & CEO)
Mr. Davis has served as the Company’s CEO and President and
as a Director
since its founding in July, 2004. Prior to founding Ze-gen, LLC, Mr.
Davis’ career
in business has included launching numerous companies, Database
Marketing Corporation
in 1986, Holland Mark Advertising in 1997, Jump Jot Authentication
Technologies
in 2001, and Cambridge Brand Analytics in 2003. Additionally, Mr. Davis
was founder
and CEO of INSTIGO, a firm launched in 2001 to provide marketing and
business
strategy advice to senior management and leveraging his 25 years of
business
and marketing strategy work with category leaders such as WW Grainger,
Coca Cola,
IBM, Sam's Club, Dreyfus, and Fidelity Investments. Mr. Davis serves on
the Board
of Directors of the International Institute of Boston and the Boston
Harbor Islands
National Park. He graduated from Connecticut College in 1979.
George
McMillan (COO & CFO)
Mr. McMillan joined the
company as a Director in November
2004. Mr. McMillan has served in executive capacities for more than 20
years. His career
includes combined
experience in supply chain management, media, and technology directed
professional
services, with demonstrated excellence in both financial and business
operations.
Prior to joining Ze-gen
as its COO and CFO, Mr. McMillan was
President and CEO of The Palladium Group, a technology and strategy
consulting
firm he helped found. Prior to joining Palladium, George was Chief
Executive
Officer of CMGI, where as both Chief Executive Officer and Chief
Financial
Officer, he successfully repositioned the financially distressed
internet
company into a billion dollar leader in supply-chain management. He
joined CMGI
in July 2001 from BMG Direct, a unit of Bertelsmann A. G., where he
served as
President and Chief Executive Officer for more than 4 years.
Before joining BMG
Direct, George served as Chief Operating
Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Renaissance Solutions, the
technology
and management consulting firm. There he helped guide the firm from 15
members
to more than 300 professionals, and through three public offerings of
its
shares. He also guided Renaissance through 13 consecutive quarters of
rising
revenue and accelerating profit and earnings per share performance.
Mr. McMillan earned his
M.B.A. with distinction from the Harvard
Graduate School of Business, his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School
and his A.B. in Economics, Phi Beta Kappa, from Stanford University.
Scott
Fraser (Senior VP of Engineering)
Mr. Fraser has been active in the energy field for thirty years. His
initial experience within a regulated utility included the engineering,
permitting, construction, and operation of conventional fossil fuel
based electrical generation/cogeneration plants and the evaluation of
emerging energy technologies. Mr. Fraser has completed a multitude of
energy projects associated with conventional coal, fluidized bed
combustion, solid waste utilization, gasification, natural gas fired
combined cycle plants, and LNG receiving terminals.
Other areas of expertise include energy infrastructure/economics within
India, the Caribbean, and the former Soviet Union and other emerging
markets which represent future market areas for Ze-gen. Mr. Fraser is
knowledgeable of the growing LNG supply infrastructure within North
America and the current challenges facing the US electrical
transmission system. Since 2000, Mr. Fraser has provided project
advisory services including due diligence assessments for energy asset
owners, lenders, potential investors, and energy technology development
companies.
A Registered Professional Engineer in Nova Scotia, Mr. Fraser holds a
B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering - Queen’s University and an MBA
Finance - Dalhousie University.
John
Harper (VP
of Finance)
John Harper has brought to Ze-gen 20 years experience facilitating the
financing
of clean and traditional power generation projects. His experiences
include private
sector developments, strategic and institutional equity investments,
public sector
project entities, and cooperatives. Mr. Harper has structured financing
for projects
involving a variety of clean power generation technologies, including
wind, photovoltaic,
biomass, land-fill gas and cellulosic ethanol projects-- facilitating
the financing
of both utility-scale and community level clean power projects. He has
advised
multiple privately-held clean power developers on financing options for
their
technology demonstration and initial full-scale projects. Recent New
England-based
clients include the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation, the
Cape Light
Compact and the Town of Orleans in Massachusetts, the Massachusetts
Renewable
Energy Trust, the Cooperative Development Institute, and several
private developers.
Mr. Harper has over two decades of project financing experience as a
developer,
lender, and as an investment advisor on domestic and international
power and
other infrastructure projects. His previous positions have been with
enXco, ABB
Structured Finance, Wärtsilä, and the Overseas
Private Investment Corporation
Jeff
Leech (VP of Operations)
Mr. Leech has joined Ze-gen as Vice President of Operations now that
our proof–of-concept
facility has been constructed. Until then, Mr. Leech served as
Operations and Facilities
manager for New Bedford Waste Services. He coordinated the day-to-day
operations
of the 1500 ton per day waste transfer station facility. He serves on
numerous
committees with the Mass DEP to solve industry issues. Previous
positions have
included Operations Manager with Rhode Island Resource Recovery, Barnes
and Jones,
and Omni Source Corporation.
Mr. Leech also has significant background in the
operations and maintenance of nuclear power electrical generating
capabilities.
Throughout 17 years in the U.S. Navy, which included serving as Leading
Chief
Petty Officer, he was involved in the planning of engineering
shutdowns, and
scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including developing and
implementing
procedures, policies and plans for the dismantlement of S1C Reactor
Plant in
Windsor Locks, CT.
Jason
Hardebeck (VP of Market Development)
Mr. Hardebeck’s professional career spans over 20 years in a
number of different technical fields. He has extensive experience in
the environmental sector, having led efforts to commercialize
zero-emissions disinfection and recycling technologies in the medical
waste field. Mr. Hardebeck has served in a variety of operational and
marketing roles in several industrial and consumer products and
Internet technology companies. In 2000, he founded and served as CEO
for WhoGlue, a relationship-management software company for non-profit
organizations. Mr. Hardebeck’s entrepreneurial background was
recognized in 2005 when he was appointed by Maryland’s
Governor
to serve as the state’s Entrepreneur in Residence. Mr.
Hardebeck’s prior experience includes serving as a
nuclear-trained Surface Warfare Officer in the U. S. Navy with
responsibilities for the operation of naval nuclear reactors.
Mr. Hardebeck holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering
from
the United States Naval Academy and an MS in Business from the Johns
Hopkins University. He serves on the boards of the Baltimore Chapter of
the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship and the Naval
Academy Executive Roundtable and as the Executive Director of the
Maryland Business Council.
Megan
Feldt (Director of Regulatory & Community
Affairs)
Ms. Feldt is a recent graduate of Princeton University with a degree in
molecular
biology and environmental studies. While at Princeton, she was a thesis
grant
recipient from the New Jersey Commission on Cancer Research. She has
extensive
laboratory research experience, having worked at Harvard Medical School
and at
the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Prior to joining Ze-gen,
she worked as the environmental scientist at the Neponset Watershed
Association.
Alex
Feinstein (Office Manager)
Mr. Feinstein graduated recently from Connecticut College with a major
in social and cultural Anthropology. He enthusiastically joins the
Boston team having studied sustainable development, and cultural
consumption patterns and solutions. While in Connecticut, he worked
with local Native American governments studying the transmission of
cancer information within the populations. In addition to his recent
position at Investor Group Services in Boston, he has worked for
various environmental non-profits in both Connecticut and
Massachusetts.
